On Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 of November Smooth Operators was present at Conversations 2022. Charlotte van Hooijdonk, Gabriëlla Martijn and Christine Liebrecht presented their paper A Framework and Content analysis of Social Cues in the Introductions of Customer Service Chatbots. With the paper they won this years Best Paper Award! The award is based on reviewer feedback and allocated by the organizing committee.
Other members of the Smooth Operators team were also present during the conference. Anouck Braggaar helped organizing a group work session togehter with Tilburg colleague Jan de Wit to brainstorm chatbot building platforms. Florian Kunneman had a paper accepted together with Gina Stolwijk: Increasing the Coverage of Clarification Responses for a Cooking Assistant. Christine Liebrecht was also involved in a project presentation together with Hanneke van Heijster, Nadine Bol, Julia van Calis, Anneke van der Cruijsen, Marcel Dijkgraaf, Wien Feitz, Michael Muller, Emilie Tromp, Kris Bevelander and Marjolijn Antheunis on inclusive design of a virtual assistant.
